miRoncol Health Inc. ("miRoncol Health," "we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal and health information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with the miCheckup microRNA multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test and our website at micheckup.com.
Personal information we collect: Name, date of birth, sex, contact information (email, phone, mailing address), payment information, health history and medical information provided during intake, biological sample data (blood sample for microRNA analysis), microRNA profiling results and associated reports, imaging results (if applicable), and communications with our clinical team.
How we use your information: To deliver the miCheckup screening service, including sample analysis, results generation, and clinical follow-up. To communicate with you about your results, appointments, and account. To improve the miCheckup service and our algorithms (using de-identified, aggregate data only). To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional obligations. To process payments and manage your account.
We will never: Sell your personal or health information to third parties. Share your identifiable health information without your explicit consent. Use your identifiable data for marketing purposes without your permission. Share your information with insurance companies, employers, or other parties without a legal obligation or your explicit consent.
How we protect your data — and your rights under Canadian law.
Your health information is protected by Canadian privacy legislation and our own security standards.
Applicable legislation: miRoncol Health handles personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial privacy legislation (including Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act, PHIPA), and all relevant regulations governing health information in Canada.
Data security: We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. Access to personal health information is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. Our systems are hosted in Canadian data centres. We conduct regular security assessments and maintain incident response procedures.
Data retention: We retain your personal and health information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, and support your ongoing health monitoring (if you choose annual re-testing). You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
Your rights: Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to: access your personal information held by miRoncol Health; request correction of inaccurate information; withdraw consent for certain uses of your information; request deletion of your data (subject to legal requirements); file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
